Trijicon RMR Dual Illuminated Amber Dot – 9 MOA, Flat Dark Earth
The Dual Illuminated RMR has no battery at all. A fiber optic collects daylight to drive the reticle, and tritium takes over in the dark. Nothing to switch on, nothing to run down, nothing to replace every few years — which is the entire argument for it on a gun that sits untouched for long stretches.
The 9 MOA dot is the largest practical aiming point in the line. On a dual-illuminated sight without brightness control, a bolder dot stays usable across a wider range of lighting conditions. The amber reticle holds strong contrast against green foliage and brown terrain, which is why it remains the traditional choice on dual-illuminated sights.
The trade-off is honest: brightness is set by the light around you, not by you. In the transition from bright sun into a dark interior the reticle takes a moment to settle, and you can't dial it up. For shooters who want a sight with no electronics to fail, that trade is worth making.
