Metal-frame pistols (steel and aluminum alloy) soak up recoil and sit still in the hand, which is why competition and range shooters still favor them. The Sig P226, P229 and P320 AXG, Beretta 92, CZ 75 and Shadow, Browning Hi-Power, Walther PPK, Kimber Micro 9 and the EAA Witness are here; 1911s have their own page. Many of these are older designs that were on the roster before 2007, which is a large part of why the California metal-frame selection is better than the striker-fired one.
