Weaver 1-PIECE Winchester 70 Short Action Extension Style Scope Base – Black
Weaver invented the cross-slot base pattern that the whole industry now calls a Weaver rail. Their mounting hardware has been the affordable, available answer on American hunting rifles for generations. The base is the foundation of a scope mounting system — it bolts to the receiver and gives the rings something square and solid to clamp to. Get this part wrong and nothing above it can be right.
Aluminum construction keeps weight down without giving up the rigidity a mount needs.
