California Legal Pistol Caliber Carbines

Pistol-caliber carbines (9mm, .40, .45 and 10mm rifles that run on pistol magazines) fall under the same California rules as any semi-automatic centerfire rifle. Most are built featureless here: a grip fin or grip wrap, the flash hider removed or replaced with a thread protector, and the stock pinned, with a 10-round magazine. AR-pattern 9mm carbines that take Colt or Glock magazines can also be built fixed-magazine with a MagLock. Carbines with no pistol grip, like the Ruger PC Carbine, are legal as the factory ships them.
