Thanks for considering a purchase with WBT Guns! Please use the following as a guide, we know buying a firearm online can be intimidating.
This guide was created to put you at ease and show you that the process is not difficult... as long as you read the entire guide!
KEEP IN MIND:
You do NOT need a special license or permit to buy a gun online. You WILL, however, need a Firearm Safety Card to submit the background check. Please read the WBT Guns DROS Requirements.
If you are prohibited from owning firearms, buying them online is not a loophole. You must pass a background check IN PERSON AT A LICENSED GUNSTORE (FFL) each time you buy a firearm regardless of purchasing in person or online. Firearms CANNOT ship to your home under any circumstances.
All of our firearms are California Legal! They are made legal out of state using a variety of methods/modifications including grip fins, pinned stocks, removed flash hiders, fixed magazines, welded muzzle extensions, 10rd mags & just about anything else needed to make a firearm California Compliant.
To make all of this happen and ensure compliance with strict CA laws, it usually takes several weeks to get your order to you. Our team works hard to make this happen, so please be patient. We promise there is never an intentional delay.
All firearms must ship to a licensed gun store (FFL) in your area OR come to our location near San Diego for the background check and transfer of ownership.
If you are unable to drive to San Diego we have an FFL Finder conveniently located on our checkout page. After placing your order please reach out to your selected FFL and confirm they are able to accept your firearm. We are required to have a copy of their Federal Firearms License before we can ship your firearm to them. Typically we handle the license acquisition but it usually helps when the receiving FFL knows a request is coming. If your chosen FFL does not respond to our requests for their license, it will delay the shipment of your firearm.
*NOTE: Most gun stores charge a transfer fee plus the $37.19 DROS Fee (background check fee). Please check with your chosen FFL about the transfer fee. Most dealers charge around $100.
Your firearm will ship via FedEx to your chosen FFL and you will receive a tracking number. Please give your chosen FFL a few days to contact you before showing up. It takes some time for them to get your gun processed into their books.
TO PURCHASE A FIREARM FROM OUR WEBSITE:
1. Add your firearm(s) and any accessories you want to purchase to your cart.
2. Open your cart (Upper Right Hand Corner) and select "Check Out" button.
3. Sign into your account or use the "Create Account" Button. Accounts are mandatory for firearms purchases.
4. At the shipping section, click the red button that says "Select Your Location." Please enter your zip code to find your nearest FFL.
5. If you want to pick up at our La Mesa store, WBT Guns will be the first option the list no matter what zip code you use. It will say "Pick Up In Store." Be sure to hit the "Select" button on the map.
**If you select WBT Guns, the DROS fee will automatically be added to your cart later in the check out process.**
6. If you have Order comments, please include them in the order comment section at this step.
7. Add your billing information. This must match your card.
8. Select your payment option. We offer 4 methods of payment.
- Credit Card(Pay in Full) Please be advised your billing address much match the card you are using. (If your payment is declined, please contact your financial institution.) Declined payments are often a safety hold placed on your card and they need you to authorize the transaction.
- Credova: This is a payment plan offered by a 3rd party. Please read the terms and conditions for more information
- 50% Down: This is a 2 payment plan. You'll pay 50% down at check out, and the remaining 50% will be automatically charged to your card in 14 days.
- 5 Split Payments: This is a 5 payment plan. A one-time $50 admin fee is added to your order total which is then split into 5 equal payments, the first of which you are responsible for at time of checkout. The remaining payments will be automatically charged to your card every 14 days until complete.
9. Acknowledge our terms and conditions.
10. Hit the "Place Order" Button
Once you have completed this step, you are done. Your firearm is ordered. We work as fast as possible, but things take time for the great State of California. Please feel free to follow up with an email with any questions or comments. Please refrain from sending out "Status Check" emails if your order is less than 6 weeks old.
If you are going to do the DROS (background check) at our La Mesa, CA location, please be advised we conduct all DROS starts and firearm pick-ups via appointment.
