Leupold BackCountry Cross-Slot Scope Base – Black, Fits Ruger American
Leupold has been machining scope mounting hardware in Oregon since long before most of the current market existed, and their ring and base systems are the reference other makers get compared against. The base is the foundation of a scope mounting system — it bolts to the receiver and gives the rings something square and solid to clamp to. Get this part wrong and nothing above it can be right.
It mounts directly to the receiver, so fitment is specific to the action it was machined for — check the fit before ordering. Aluminum construction keeps weight down without giving up the rigidity a mount needs.
This one is machined specifically for the Ruger American. Mounting hardware is action-specific, so confirm your exact model and generation before ordering — a base that is close but not correct will not sit square.
