This is a complete mounting solution in one piece — no separate base to buy, no alignment to fuss over, and one less interface that can move under recoil.
It clamps to a Picatinny rail, the MIL-STD-1913 slot pattern used on virtually every modern rifle, so mounting position is adjustable along the rail. Sized for a 1-inch tube, the traditional American standard still used across most hunting scopes. High rings give clearance for large objective bells, 50mm and up, or for a rifle with a tall comb. The trade is a higher sight line over the bore. Aluminum construction keeps weight down without giving up the rigidity a mount needs.
