About this tool
Forster Products 6.5 PRC No Go Headspace Gage is a gunsmithing or maintenance tool.
Use the right tool for the fastener; armorer's wrenches, punches and torque wrenches are what keep a build from showing stripped screws and marred finishes.
Manufacturer details
The Forster 6.5 PRC No Go Headspace Gage measures the length of a rifle chamber and tells you whether your 6.5 PRC headspace sits within a safe tolerance. Headspace is the distance between the face of the breech and the base of the cartridge when the action is closed. Getting it right protects both your safety and your accuracy. Drop this gage into the chamber and watch how the action responds. You get a clear read on chamber condition before you ever load live brass.
The NO GO gage answers one question with authority. If your rifle closes fully on a NO GO gage that is a warning that the chamber may have excessive headspace. Excessive headspace is dangerous. Unsupported brass fired in a rifle with too much headspace can rupture and vent gas rearward toward the shooter a serious safety risk. Too much headspace also hurts accuracy and shortens case life. The same check that keeps you safe protects your groups and your brass. A correctly headspaced 6.5 PRC chamber should not fully close on the NO GO gage.
Forster machines its headspace gages to strict standards. Each gage gives you a precise repeatable reference you can trust from one check to the next. This gage is cut specifically for the 6.5 PRC and belongs on any gunsmithing or reloading bench where chamber dimensions matter. Reach for it when you chamber a new barrel or when you want to verify a used rifle before trusting it with match loads. It pairs naturally with a GO gage for a complete picture of where your chamber falls.
