Yankee Hill Machine Phantom 5.56mm Compensator/Flash Hider YHM-28-5C1 is a flash hider for AR rifles for .223/5.56.
Match the thread pitch to your barrel (1/2x28 on most 5.56 and 9mm barrels, 5/8x24 on most .308 and 6.5mm) and the bore to your caliber. A device that is too small for the bullet is dangerous.
California note: a flash hider is a listed feature on a semi-automatic centerfire rifle with a detachable magazine. It works on a fixed-magazine (MagLock or CompMag) build. On a featureless rifle it is replaced with a thread protector or a muzzle brake. See the California Rifle Compliance Guide.

The YHM Phantom Flash Hider is designed for 5.56mm Cartridge. This five (5) port design has no downward facing port which helps eliminate dust problems when shooting in the prone position. This flash hider has smooth end cuts. It is threaded for 1/2"-28 and includes the crush washer.
