California compliance
- Status: Legal to own in California.
- Configuration: Fixed magazine (CompMag), installed by WBT. The CompMag is a fixed 10-round magazine that stays in the rifle and loads one round at a time from the side through a loading port, so the rifle keeps its pistol grip, stock and muzzle device and is never opened to reload. It fits most rifles that take a standard AR-15, AR-10 or AK-47 magazine.
- Magazine: 10-round CompMag, fixed in place; loads from the side.
- Your options: If this page shows a compliance selector, choose the build you prefer and we configure it that way. If not, this is the configuration we offer by default; on AR-pattern rifles and some AKs a different build is often possible, so ask us before you order.

About this rifle
Century Arms VSKA Thunder Ranch Edition is an AK-pattern rifle chambered in 7.62x39 with a 16" barrel and a 10-round capacity. Finish: Black/Wood. An AK has a one-piece receiver that does not open like an AR, so the MagLock approach is not available; AKs are built featureless or with a CompMag, as described above.
Manufacturer details
Thunder Ranch is more than just a legacy training experience with, hands down, the most sought after training in the world. They have been around long enough to now be teaching the grandchildren of many of their students.
The VSKA is the ultimate example of American Technology meeting Combloc Ingenuity. Re-engineered with critical components using machined S7 tool steel, a material so highly regarded for its ability to withstand heavy duty action, that it is used in excavator teeth and jackhammer tips!
The VSKA rifle features an all new bolt carrier, front trunnion, and feed ramp machined from S7 tool steel and specially heat treated for maximum durability. Additionally, the VSKA features a carburized 4140 steel bolt, a chrome-moly 4150 barrel, and sports the RAK-1 Enhanced Trigger Group for an impressive trigger pull. Along with a manganese-phosphate finish, the classic AK elegance is preserved with an American maple wood buttstock and fore-end. No matter the sporting need, the USA made Century Arms VSKA is built for it!
