Trijicon SRO Red Dot – 5 MOA
The SRO exists for one reason: the window. Trijicon went to a tall, round lens that gives you dramatically more glass than an RMR, which makes finding the dot faster on the draw and far more forgiving when your presentation isn't perfect. Competition shooters adopted it immediately.
A 5 MOA dot is built for speed. The larger aiming point catches your eye faster on the draw, which is the whole point on a competition gun.
That large window is also the limitation. The SRO is built for competition and range work, not the abuse an RMR is designed to absorb, and the exposed lens is more vulnerable than the RMR's protected housing. If you want a duty optic, buy the RMR. If you want to find the dot faster on the clock, this is the one.
