The VCOG is Trijicon's variable-power combat optic: a first focal plane 1-8x built to the same standard as the ACOG, with a machined housing that takes abuse a commercial scope wouldn't survive.
This configuration is 1-6x with a 24mm objective.
First focal plane keeps the reticle subtensions correct at any magnification, and the illuminated reticle runs off a single AA battery — a deliberate choice, since an AA is available anywhere in the world.
