About this rifle barrel
Wilson Combat Recon 6.8 Spc II 16 Fluted Mid Gas Stainless 1-11 is a rifle barrel for AR-15, 16 in, 5/8-24 threads.
Check the gas system length, muzzle threads and profile against your handguard and gas block. The twist rate tells you which bullet weights the barrel is happiest with; 1:7 and 1:8 handle heavy bullets, 1:9 and slower favor light ones.
Manufacturer details
While many AR-style rifle builders like to put together platforms designed around a specific purpose, there's also a huge benefit to having a general-purpose rifle that can handle a range of tasks, from vigorous training and plinking to hunting and field carry. The Wilson Combat AR-15 Recon Barrel is purpose-built for such a rifle.
Machined entirely from 416R stainless steel, each Wilson Combat AR-15 Recon Barrel features fluting that's designed to eliminate excess weight from the platform while enhancing the rigidity of the barrel. An additional added benefit is the increased surface area, which provides greater cooling for long strings of fire. The rifle barrel is built also with a mid-length gas system.
With more than 20 years of experience in the rifle-building industry, the designers and engineers working to develop the Wilson Combat AR-15 Recon Barrel created a solid addition to any rifle purpose-built to enhance accuracy, durability and service life.
