Weaver Grand Slam Scope Base – 1", Medium, Black
Weaver invented the cross-slot base pattern that the whole industry now calls a Weaver rail. Their mounting hardware has been the affordable, available answer on American hunting rifles for generations. The base is the foundation of a scope mounting system — it bolts to the receiver and gives the rings something square and solid to clamp to. Get this part wrong and nothing above it can be right.
It fits the Weaver cross-slot pattern, standard on a huge number of American hunting rifles. Sized for a 1-inch tube, the traditional American standard still used across most hunting scopes. Medium height is the usual answer for a standard hunting scope — enough clearance for a typical 40mm to 44mm objective without raising the scope more than necessary. Steel construction adds weight but resists deformation under clamping force better than aluminum, which is why it stays popular on hard-kicking rifles.
