Trijicon builds mounting hardware to the same standard as their optics, which is to say it's specified for duty use rather than range use. Rings do one thing: hold the scope exactly where you put it, shot after shot. Undersized or poorly machined rings are behind more mystery accuracy problems than most shooters realize.
It clamps to a Picatinny rail, the MIL-STD-1913 slot pattern used on virtually every modern rifle, so mounting position is adjustable along the rail. Sized for a 35mm tube, found on the largest long-range and precision optics. Medium height is the usual answer for a standard hunting scope — enough clearance for a typical 40mm to 44mm objective without raising the scope more than necessary. Aluminum construction keeps weight down without giving up the rigidity a mount needs.
