Ammo Transfers

Bought ammunition from an out-of-state or online seller? WBT can receive it, run the required California background check at pickup, and hand it off to you. Here’s what to expect.

Fees & Taxes

Taxes: 8.5% sales tax. We’re required by law to collect sales tax on the purchase price of the ammo if it wasn’t already paid.

Terms & Conditions

1. You must submit to a background check to receive ammunition. Please review the CA DOJ ammunition purchase FAQ.
2. You agree to pick up your ammo within 30 days of notification. Any ammo left past 30 days without communication is charged a $60/month storage fee. After 3 months, the ammo is surrendered to WBT to recover storage fees.
3. If you are not eligible to own ammo for any reason, there is an additional $30 plus shipping fee to return it to the seller.
4. Please wait for a call or email from WBT regarding your transfer — we’ll contact you. Don’t come to the store or call, even if you receive a delivery notification. We have to check your ammo in first, which can take 1–3 days depending on volume.
5. Your name must be on the invoice that accompanied the ammo. If your ammo ships without an invoice, you’ll need to provide one before we can release it or start the background check. No exceptions.
